I picked this little gem up from Biju at this years Moab, and I finally took the time to install it on my garage door opener.

The kit.

It took all of ten minutes, literally, to install it and now the once useless option button on my remote has a purpose. Woohoo.

I liked that idea and looked for the kit a while back, then like most things, I gave up on it. The VX hasn't been in the garage in about a year anyway. Still a cool device tho!

HEY, that's organized.....sort of. Notice how the wires are nicely coiled up and zip tied to the existing garage door opener wires.:p The wires in the kit are super long and I didn't want to cut any of them on the off chance that I move and need to re-install it in another garage where the power plug and garage door opener are farther away.

As an update; the link has been install for about a week now, and it's SO cool to just push the button on the key fob and have the door go up instead of fumbling around for the clicker.

I can't find mine. I lost it in my move to LA. I'm sure its in a box somewhere.

But do you have to be parked right in front of the garage door to be in range like you do with the power locks? :p

Pretty much. My clicker can open the door from around the corner of the townhouse as I pull into the driveway, but the fob only opens it once I round the corner and start heading toward the garage. I suppose if you bent down and put the fob against your head it would boost the range just like it does for the locks.
