Hi folks,

I don't post too often, but you might have noticed that I trundle past occasionally when I'm either looking for something specific or feel I have something to share.

I'm lucky to live in the middle of England (but not as lucky as if I could live in the middle of Scotland :p ) and close to where many of the Japanese car shows take place. I've been to two lately - the first was JAE (Japanese Auto Extravaganza) which was a fun weekend consisting mainly of getting mildly to moderately drunk with my Yaris Club UK mates and the second was a day trip to the Japshow Finale to see some of the drag racing and nosey the stunning machinery on some of the club stands.

So anyway, here are some pics:-

JAE

YCUK Stand - we were a bit ostracized as Lexus OC had no cars at all on their stand (their chauffeurs must have been on strike). Look how close we were to the bar though!

Maybe I brought along some props for showing off...

I cleaned it and everything.

My other little motor - 1.3 litres of lowered, stiffened, near-stock looking noise (40mpg no problem...)

I can't believe that of almost 2700 cars those were my best photos. I blame alcohol...

ST205 Celica GT-4 - if I didn't already have a complex, JDM problem-child I could easily have taken this home.

More Nissan-based JDM Drift-ness. I always forget the name of this model...

There was plenty of Skyline-porn around.

You can't beat an unmolested Supra though.

None of them as nice as this early one.

Oh, there were loads of Imprezas (blue with gold wheels, anyone?) and Civic Type-Rs, but they're all dull as heck...

Some video from the drag strip and the drift-passengering (a friend's wife we'd basically dragged into the queue!):- http://www.youtube.com/v/JRKqs6n6lMs&hl

I hope you're not all completely bored!

Who makes the roof rack on your VX? Looks JDM/OEM...

The rails are from a French motor factors and are meant for Freelander (LR2), Peugeot 406 wagons of Renault Kangoos but bizarrely fit the VX and the tray is a generic one drilled to allow u-bolts to hold it in place.

Its a "bitsa" but it works and doesn't look out of place!

The 11th car (12 if you fix that missing Nissan Silvia picture after the 4th picture. :p ) is a Sileighty (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sileighty).

Wikipedia
A Sileighty (???????) is a Nissan 180SX with a Nissan Silvia's headlights, front fenders, hood, and front bumper installed, hence the 'Sil' in front and the 'eighty' rear.

More info after the jump.

Site 2 (http://www.totfc.net/tenshi/sileighty.html)

There is some pretty nice eye candy there. Thanks for sharing!!!
That GTO, love it, specially if it is the VR-4 version.

Yeah, I knew it wasn't a Sileighty - the Sileighty is a fastback. I believe Onevias exist and are much sought after too. I get mixed up will all my Silvia variants...

Washing machine jokes are always a good way to annoy an RX-7 or RX-8 owner. You can always placate them by commenting on how good they sound "on the spin cycle"!

I stand corrected my friend, a PS13 and a Sileighty are so close that I had to look at it again. The PS13 actually has a squarer rear section roof than a 180sx round hatch. Not used to seeing an unmolested S13 or 180sx anyways...

also never hurts to notice the S14 (i believe) next to it ;)
did a little deduction :naughty:
