Here's some interesting reading if you're curious about the strength of different grades of hardware.
Potentially useful for those mounting winches, tow hooks, "D" rings, or clevis loops...:_wrench:

Good info Dub.

Too bad he didn't also list the recommended torque specs. Usually torque is determined by the fastener unless it's being used in a special application (such as head bolts) where too much torque can distort the parts being attached. I used to have a chart showing that info but lost it decades ago.

Good thread, I will eventually be attaching a winch to the front bumper of my Trooper and I will come back to this thread when the time comes to mount it.
