i didn't mean to do it... i was pulling a u turn when i thought i saw a car coming towards me from outta nowhere so i hit the gas and ended up on top of a blue cylindrical box with a fire hydrant in it... the four wheel drive in these baby's is trippy :'(

:nogray: I think the blue cylindrical box won the fight. So i'm guessing your VX turned wider than you where anticipating?

Man...that's a drag...:sighwgray

Hope you're OK, that should repair fairly easily/quickly, as long as parts are plentiful.(I hope)

I feel your pain, for me it was a tree...:_crying:

Dude, sorry to see this happen to you.

The VX can be fixed. That's good. It seems like you're o.k. That's even better.

Peace.
Tom

Oh man, those pix are hard to look at. Glad you're OK.

In the second pic, it looks like the front wheels are pointed in opposite directions. Hope it was just the center link that broke. Good luck on the repairs & keep us posted.

BTW - we won't hate unless the VX gets scrapped.

We don't hate here... I'm just glad that you didn't post that you were hurt in anyway (Outside of your baby). I hope that wasn't an omission. Your safety is paramount. Time will heal.

Ouch, that sucks.

Has the embarrassment subsided yet? :p

On the flip side; it looks like the under carriage got a nice wash down.:o (just trying to find the positive)

Glad you're OK, and I'm sure your baby will be back up and running in no time.

I am silver lining kind of guy as well, might as well get HD tie rods if it tore those up too. If you had a skid plate...hint hint, you probably would have been fine:) LOL. One more reason to get a Kilby plate.

Glad you are ok.

ahh yes.. i'm fine.. that's all the good news i have...
i've tried to repost here 3 times now but it won't work on my iphone.. stupid thing
so my vx is in the shop... i Think the adjuster looked at it because i don't think the mechanic can touch it till they see it and the parts are already removed from the front... i'll find out later today
news is worse now though... three days after my accident my sister decides to rear end a brand new tacoma on her way home... the Ram is in my name, under my insurance and she isn't on the policy. she's fine and insurance called me to see if i gave her permission to drive it... i said yes of course
so it looks like a total loss and according to my buddy the insurance adjuster wants to call the bee a loss..... NOOOOOO!!!!!
i hate this week

There is no way that should be a total loss. Most of the front end damage is cosmetic. I had no problems when I rear ended a guy a few years back ($5000 in damage to my VX...he ran). The front end parts are still available out there (mine needed radiator, fan, front skid plate, cladding, bumper bar, various supports and some random straightening of a few things). I am sure you had some damage underneath also. Do you know what all was/appeared to be damaged? Most of the parts under there are probably shared by the Trooper. Try to get a list of damages from the shop.
Most insurance companies will try to cut there losses and total it since most people will just say okay and move on. If you put up a little fight they may change their way...remember, VX's are a limited production vehicle and are becoming even more limited! Keep on fighting!

This thread actually led me to contact my insurance company, usaa, to find the value of my vehicle. They quoted it out with accessories at 9500. Works for me. If I wrecked it, I would strip every accessory I could off of it.

Or you can let them total it - buy it back - fix it yourself.

The guy at the body shop knows how much this truck means to me... He told the insurance so and told them to write up an estimate... He started working on it today... Going to strip whatever he can from the one at the pick a part in Santa Paula... And he's gonna order the rest of the parts :)

so I need merlin's info at st Charles isuzu... I wanna get my baby back on the road asap... Any help appreciated

I'm still waiting for the insurance to look at the dodge and tell me what they are gonna do with it... I couldn't care less as long as the Bee is getting fixed

thanks for all the nice words and uplifting comments guys... Ur the best family a car owner/lover could have

That's good news Richard. Glad to hear she's in for repair. As far as Merlin, I saw a movie about him once but I don't know what spell calls him forth. But I am sure one of our more advanced wizards will give ya the info.

Better be committed for the long haul if you do that though - you'll get a salvage title for your efforts, which means you'll probably never be able to sell it again, especially if you paint it to look like Superman. :p

Don't think that is a problem for most of us here :)

Someone cares about the title? Cuz they wanna sell their truck? Nope, I must be hearing things... Not selling my baby... If insurance hadn't fixed it I was planning a buy back and fixed her myself... If I'm not mistaken, insurance is cheaper on a salvage title... Am I wrong?

Thanks Boss, you too Dubster...
