Two used Cooper Zeon LTZs in 285/60-18 in Dayton Ohio. Seller says there's between 8 and 9/32nds tread remaining, or about 75%. Will ship. Fairly decent price $195 + $50, since best we've seen here NEW was around $150 each delivered, I think.
With tread meter showing exact amount remaining, you can see if they match your own tread to keep TOD from freaking out.
Been for sale for a little while, I'd contact seller and see if he'll take less.

VehiCROSS logo door sill plates! Don't know if they would work though considering that the screws and plastic covers are right there. Maybe you could remove the covers and stick them over the screws? Seems like that would be a mess to remove later though.

The bidding just ended on this one that's linked above in this thread, and it just tied the world record for the fewest bids on an eBay VX..... zero!

Mark,

The PO on my Proton listed on ebay. He had zero bids as well (rumor has it - the offset & spare were not well received). It all worked out tho - it's mine now.

I ordered the CV joints off of Ebay. Got two brand new ones, haven't installed them, but they look like they fit. They come with 100% fit guarantee. They are pretty sweet, especially for 120 bucks with shipping for this seemingly hard to find part.

Don't need the fang but it looks like it also comes with one rail cover. If by chance that is the drivers side front rail cover and you don't need it I would be interested, just in case I ever take the crossbars off.

Hi Mike- Yeah, that looked like a rail cover to me too, I'll be checking that out when it arrives & let you know if it's the correct one.

And a big thanks for posting the roof rack find on ebay, my ebay search email notification had not notified me of that yet.

I don't know guys, in the picture where he shows the door it's conspicuously missing the VehiCROSS logo that should be there. Looks like maybe the owner lost all of the doors at one point then replaced them with a generic Yakima part.

Buyer beware if you want the true OEM look.

Vehicle has a salvage title, but dealership claims it's only due to a theft despite the fact that the history report indicates significant body damage. If you look closely at the pictures there are also some tell-tale signs of body damage, most notably that the driver's door doesn't meet the fender panel correctly. Plus the steering wheel is in BAD shape, there are creases on the center armrest, the engine bay looks like it just finished a Dakar rally (or was driven in a sandstorm), the mats are filthy, the trunk area looks dirty also, the Isuzu labels are missing off the rims, there are significant scratches on the driver's side door, something weird just below the Ironman pillar badges, the sidewalls of the tires are cracking, and to nit pick, they didn't bother to clean the bird-*** off the spoiler or spell check the ad.

And the starting bid is $5,500. I can't imagine why this dealership even bought it to resell.

It's called Shaved Door Handles...works the same way as the popper for our rear door.

If you want to add that to your mods you can make it happen with these:

http://www.slickcar.com/sub2results.asp?Sub2=46

It's very popular with the Tuner crowd and those who like the Lambo door look (where the door swings up from the front hinge).

A) Lambo/Scissor door was my first guess, but since it wasn't mentioned in the listing....and I know they're a couple thousand large!

B) This mod isn't for me anyway, rather have the Hella Micro DE Xenons if I was inclined to spend some coin!

C) I'm definitely not a tuner (although I did have a rice rocket...'84 CRX)....lived in L.A. for 15 yrs '82-'97 so had more than my full share of that.......and I won't be adding LED undercarriage lights any time soon...:p

You send them the abs module and they fix it with a lifetime warranty. Obviously you cant remove your abs module and continue driving. I will be replacing my abs module soon and will have a broken spare that someone could use for this program. Just throwing it out there if anyone is interested. I asked him about his minimum price. He's had offers for various parts that add up to $9,500 so he "might" take $8,000 or.... ;puke2; he will start chopping up a good running vehicle and sell it piece by piece. ;puke2; It's coincidental that you would also link to an ad for a $495 transfer case - this guy says he was offered $2,000.

That's interesting...it's been me trying to buy his roof rack for $300 (not $500) for the past 2-3 weeks, he's been wanting to hold off and think about it. I tried to get him to understand a roof rack doesn't warrant a $300 differential in selling price, as it's just an item that's "there" on the truck, not something that's a make or break deal. That's my "leverage" so-to-speak, in getting people to sell me their racks, doesn't diminish their selling price for the truck. But I'm patient, and suspect I'll end up with the roof rack sooner or later. :bgwb:
He never mentioned any other offers he was getting for "parts" but I guess that could be true...kind of doubt it though.:_wtf: Maybe he's had delusions of grandeur since I offered him $300 for just the roof rack, and thinks all his other parts are going to command ultra high prices.....???

Plain & simple, his isn't likely to sell with a starting price of $7k on ebay.....we see it all the time, too high of a start price gets you no bidders. He'd do better starting with a lower price and setting a reserve like the Proton one is doing in FLA. But, alas, he didn't ask the Queen's advice.

I chatted with the owner of the seats over email. I was considering these instead of restoring mine depending on the condition. They are advertised as "like new" condition, however I haven't been able to get him to send me any better pics since he claims they are already boxed and packaged.

Additionally, these were listed earlier in the week and someone in TX used the buy it now option. Shipping was listed as $50 in that auction. Now the seller is stating that it will be about $250 to ship the seats from MD to TX, and of course the buyer is disputing the additional shipping charge.

The seller acknowledged to me that he can't really sell the seats until he works it out with the bidder in TX. (Maybe a member here?) Not sure why he's re-listed without clearing that up first? :_thinking

So, buyer beware. I think it goes without saying, but these seats are a STEAL at that price, especially if you can pick up.

Thanks for the tip BigMeat. I really like the way it auto-pulls pics from CraigsList ads and displays them as thumbnails in the results list. But it doesn't seem very comprehensive to me. For example, because all it provides is a pre-populated dropdown, I can only search for "Isuzu Vehicross" - meaning anything listed under only Vehicross wouldn't show. The site also only seems to list vehicles in the results set, and many of them are repeated (whereas Google removes duplicative entries by default). I see you can also search by parts, but it only retrieves 9 total results. For comparison, when I search MashUp for Isuzu Vehicross I get 99 vehicle and part results from eBay and CraigsList combined. When I search those sites independently I get 2,095 eBay results and 84 CL results. The only reason the CL result count was that low was that I filtered on posting dates of Apr 1st or later, which is another option MashUp doesn't seem to offer.

Maybe I'm just using it wrong? Seems like a much better interface than SearchTempest, but not as thorough.

Looks to be in good condition and starting bid is only $9.75 (plus a very reasonable $3.95 shipping). For those comparison shopping, I believe a new OEM remote from Merlin/Isuzuparts.com is in the $35ish range before shipping - NOT over $100 as the seller claims.

I ran their compatibility check, says no go on the VX. As for comparing to wet okole, not a chance, the wet okoles are made for the seat, as in custom made, just like the leather that is on it right now. Nothing short of coverking will be like the Okoles, but they too are a couple hundred bucks.

I know, I know, it says shipping is only to the EU. But I'm pretty sure this guy has listed the rims multiple times with no buyers, so maybe he'd be willing to ship them international for the right price? 299EU ~ $417 USD, so even if he tacks on $400-500 for shipping you're still paying a price comparable to buying rims here.

No worries on the Nissan badging, they're just stickers that can be peeled off and replaced with OEM Borbet stickers from eBay. And I've got an extra cover in the garage to replace the one that's cracked.

It's just the styling, pure and simple...you all like your style, I happen to drool over this style. I like the color and finish, the smooth lines and the 5 spoke, not too busy, just really slick looking. And I liked them before I even knew they were on the VX-02.

Well I guess I'll come at it from a slightly different angle. I've never been a fan of aftermarket rims for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that they often cost decent/big ching for little to no difference other than a questionable stylistic upgrade. That said, there are two reasons why I don't like the stock 18" rims: the chintzy (IMHO) chrome finish that inevitably flakes and the angular wheel design that makes dust collection more severe and cleaning more of a pain in the @ss. So for me the answer was a brushed aluminum finish with a more rounded/smooth shape, which you obviously see in the Borbet rims. Coming from the sports car world (and particularly from a sports car with this style rim) I really like the 5/7 spoke design, which to me conveys more of a sport feel as opposed to a truck/SUV/utilitarian feel. As with the rest of my mods, I wanted something understated that could pass for OEM but be a nice visual upgrade. Apparently the VehiCROSS design team came to this same conclusion, as they featured this rim not only on the VX-02 but also in white-colored form on their Ironman show truck. I would be lying to say that the VX-02 connection and rarity of the rim aren't a part of the decision-making process, as they do after all add an even more unique aspect to an already uncommon vehicle. But there are other factors as well.

All of that to say that obviously this is not the desired style of many (if not most) of the membership here, but for anyone interested in this particular rim I'm happy to help in locating them. I don't know for sure how many sets Borbet produced, but since I only see a set for sale globally once or twice a year I thought I would post it here.

3K is a term used in CF. It is common in bicycles (http://www.bikeforums.net/archive/index.php/t-354449.html).:yesy:

OK, but where ARE the motors located? I don't recall seeing anything that looked like a motor when I've had my doors apart...but I may have missed it since I was focusing on the rubber track. I know I can look it up, but I'm being lazy :mbrasd:...

They are in the door but the reason you didn't see them is that they are mounted behind one of the cross bars of the door. They should be fairly low in the door & centered front to back.

I'll save you some searching: Look on page 8F-36 (page 1620 of the pdf file) - it's called the regulator.

Do you need the factory wire harness to hook them up?

vt_maverick
11/23/2010, 01:27 PM
That helps, otherwise you have to fabricate the connections yourself. But then again you would have to splice the wires from the factory harness to your aftermarket lights anyway, so I guess it's the difference between making that splice at the switch pin or further down the wire.

I bought one of those Rodeo fog switches from that guy on eBay earlier this year. I even posted a link for it. I got it in a week or so with no problem. It was brand new.

However, it is NOT a direct fit for our dash or the triple switch bezel. It's for a '98+ Rodeo and we need a '97 or earlier, but they never had a fog switch at that time.

Our switches have a notch in the upper left corner and our dash and bezel have plastic in that corner. The Rodeo switch is square in that corner. I cut out the corner plastic in the bezel to test fit and it still was not quite right. It just did not fit 100% snug and I think the depth or something was not right also. It didn't sit the same way as other VX switches. I was not happy with it at all. Some may find it to be okay, but I wanted something with a perfect fit like our VX switches.

I then tried to remove the button face piece to see if it could be swapped out with a another VX switch face. It was hell gettin' it off and it was too different anyway to swap! The switch ended up trashed and I salvaged the bulbs. Only $11 lost and a lesson learned.

I did look up a '97 Trooper fog switch that may be compatible, #8-97135-512-0, but I never looked into it anymore.

I'm sorry I didn't post this earlier, but I just saw this now. Moncha actually was using the Rodeo switch many years ago and I think he mentions the slight modification somewhere.

End of story.

Mark Griffin

Edit: Here's some old info I found about the fog switches-

The foglight switch does NOT fit into the hole left by the blank on the dash! I destroyed the switch getting it out after trying to fit it in, so $20 down the tubes.... I guess it only fits into the fuzzy-hole bezel?

I'll have to see if I can find the post, there is another switch that is more expensive out there. The cheaper switch works in the fuzzy bezel but you do have to modify the bezel.

The cheaper switch is the Rodeo one. The more expensive switch is the Trooper one, #8-97135-512-0 for ~$50-60. But I don't know for sure if it fits, 'cuz the other post was at Club VMag.

Another edit: I found the old thread at Club VMag about the two fog switches, but no one tried the more expensive one, so we still don't know if it fits.

Seems like you could cut that corner piece then use some metal/plastic shim material and glue/cement to hold it in place maybe? As infrequently as you press it I would think it would hold okay.

Btw, I tried putting an Axiom hazard switch in a '96 Passport dash (same as ours only black) and discovered the same issue. So I think it's reasonable to assume that any switch made after 98 won't fit perfectly.
