Luv the pics and vid of the VX pushing the dakar. gonna have to get me one of those kenetic energy ropes. Looks like they stay stiff while your pushin and relax when your finished.

Yeah, yeah, the Dakar needed pushed... :o

Nice vid.

What a cool vehicle it is - once you've overlooked the Landy/Rangie underpinnings - and I would have wanted to be extracted by anything else.
(more info on Dakars here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dakar_4x4) btw...)

The pull was so smooth - no jerk from the driver's seat of the VX just a "pop" as the VX was pulled out of the ruts I was in, and then I could have driven straight out after those first 6 inches. First time I'd been pulled like that (insert double-entendre here) and I believe that was a textbook example of the technique (no thanks to me) :yesy:

What you thankfully can't hear is the language used when I realised I couldn't even reverse out to take a second cut.

Its from the Camel Trophy Challenge. Just kind of a cult saying now for 4x4 owners to display on their vehicls. "one life, live it"

to be fair i only tried once with a normal tow rope before the Dakar stepped up with the KER rope. VX would have done it just fine i think but the way i tried i just dug myself into the sand

Exactly! That chap just wanted to play with his fancy rope :)

Pretty much everyone there were as friendly and helpful (without being condescending) as he was.
