As soon as i can get as finished as possible on the 6 million pound flat we've been developing tomorrow i am off, out of London and driving down to Newquay in Cornwall, cant wait :bgwp: :D  it'll take 6 hours so hoping to leave around lunch time. Got a nice cottage near the main beach so i'll be bbq'ing, fishing, beer'ing etc etc

have only taken 2 days holiday this year so off until tuesday, i've left the big tyres on (thanks to you lot!!!) so can take it anywhere and intend on finding some sandy beaches or muddy bogs to thrash it about in :D :D also going to have a few 'tours' around the area do some nice drives.

I'll be off line till then but will take some good pics......

have a good weekend y'all (in a american accent;) )

That is some beautiful scenery. I believe there have been some movies filmed in that bay area haven't there? I seem to recognize it and the two rock islands just off the beach...

Water temp of 92 ? - mine runs at 80-82 constant never ever had her hot even ragging down the motorway at 100+
pretty sure 92 isn't right - sounds very warm - maybe it has the wrong thermostat - or may mine does?
someone will know the correct running temp for a JDM
cheers

Yeah, it does sound hot. Mine runs at the 80 to 82 mark whether trundling along lanes or pelting down the M1.

I'll bet your radiator is clogged with mud - I know mine is hence the removal and cleaning planned for Sunday. Should only take an hour or so.

Great scenery byw - I bet there were a few "wft?" moments from passers-by - always fun :D

Welcome home Crotch!

Looks like a lovely cottage. I love Cornwall this time of year, but wouldn't go in the height of summer if you paid me!!!!

I've got my Scangauge now and just in the process of setting it up. Any tips greatfully received!

And yes agree with the others - 93 does sound a bit hot, but if it's maximum then probably ok. What temp does it cruise at?

Nick

its normally around 80 - 82 to be honest but on the motorway it was hanging around the 87 degree mark. It was bloody hot yesterday though :D Plus the aircon on 100% of the time too, may not help?

about the heat thing... i have no idea what mine runs at because i dont have a scangauge..but i recently modded my hood insert to help, because mine seems to run really hot...

i added 1/2 inch spacers on all the of back bolts of the insert...i have pictures but my internet doesnt work at home yet.

just a thought though...helps a lot at highway speeds

its really nice because its subtle too...

i unbolted the whole thing...cut a triangle shaped hole in the middle of the hood (triangle to fit between the supports), then when i remounted the insert i cut 1/2 PVC pipe spacers and added them to the rear/center 4 bolts...(there are 2 holding the washers on and 2 holding the insert to the hood in the middle)

i was originally going to shim all 6 rear bolts, but i decided it might look better if the insert just had a little 'bow'...

ill get pictures up asap (as soon as my internet is working)
