I am still debating on wheels. I have some 15X8.5 aluminum spoke vector type wheels that I could mount 31 10.50 tires. Can members give me advise on going to a 15" wheel over keeping the stock 18" wheel. Also, are there members with pictures of their VX with 15" wheels.

I've got a set of 15" Nissan Frontier wheels as does someone else here on the site. The main issue you have to check for with non-Isuzu wheels is the diameter of the center bore which is rather large, something around 110mm if I remember correctly. Also, an issue with the smaller diameter wheel is clearance of the upper A-arm. When I first mounted my 15's I thought I torqued the lugs to spec and then went on a rally stage in competition. After that first stage the steering was all weird and when I checked the front end I found both front wheels LOOSE! The upper A-arm, being steel, whittled down the interior inside edges of both wheels so I had to re-torque the lugs and kept checking them throughout the day to make sure the lugs stayed tight in case more metal got removed.

So definitely trial fit and triple-check all clearances before taking the plunge and getting on or off road with 15" wheels. :)

Pluss the offset of the wheel could interfere with the arm. Aka a lower offset like 0 would be better with a 15inch wheel?

Also check the brake calipers. my 16" rims are fairly close.

I have put the rim on and it fits good....no tire yet. Got plenty of room over the brake caliper. I've always been scared of changing something with and older item. I had a 76 Starsky & Hutch Torino and used some old aluminum slotted rims. I was always afraid of a crack or something happening to the rim. I may stick with stock and add bigger tires.

I got these at Pick and Pull for about a $100 bucks. I was planning on putting some 31in ATs on them.

Hey Kodiak that is a very nice wheel. What size tires are on them in the photo?

My son still is mad at me for selling my Starsky Torino. I had a friend with one and we went off together. Talk about turning heads........
