3) Picking up dog in Oregon (Boulder) see attached

2) I asked Brittany to Marry me at the Base of Mt. Shasta, in northern California

1) Brittany and I have a baby on the way, she's 5 1/2 months pregnant and can't be in an offroad vehicle... maybe not in the VX at all ;)

:)

So I kind of knew I wasn't going to be able to make it, but I was hoping I could work out to have my nephew to go with me instead, and then Brit and I could plan a different weekend to get the dog. Turned out my Nephew was running the Ogden Marathon the Weekend of Moab (his first ever 4:32 was his time) After knowing he couldn't go, and that I had no one else to bring, I scheduled "my" weekend for the same weekend as Moab... that way It would soften the blow of not being there. And no offense to you all :) It was worth it

The Image shows "Boulder" our new American Indian Dog, with "Breuer" our Dutch Shepherd we picked up 3 months ago, amazing amazing amazing dog. He's 13 months old, and damn near genius status ;)

Grats Dude - looks like you're set up for a Mega-Year.

My 'scuse for not going to Moab is that it just too far. One day I'll make it tho.

A few really....

My life is mostly all work and no play. Gotta do what I gotta do if I wanna retire by 45.

I live light years away from MOAB. The FTL drives on my VX aren't working so well and throwing a CEL 011101100011X. I haven't used them in a while as to prevent effects seen in and around an event horizon. Neat looking, but very disorienting.

I don't relish the idea of parking my VX to ride shotgun with another VXer. I have dent-scrape-breakage-dirt-dust-flat-aphobia with her. She was simply never set up for any offroad use and it would be stupid to pretend she was. :p

Procrastination. I am King.

I will not make anyone feel guilty for not going to Moab, life happens. I just want to say CONGRATULATIONS on the news! When time is right, what you want to do, will happen.

Dude, you didn't even say if she said yes or not! ;)

I'm still waiting for an answer ;) HA!

She said yes before even thinking about it... She'll probably claim temporary insanity and bail on me.

:) Thanks for the Congrats all! We're very very excited!! Crazy crazy crazy year for me!

We need to get Menace and my Buds together for play time!

In the last 8 months I have:
Lost a dog
Made a baby
Got a dog
Got a puppy
and Gotten engaged :)

by the end of the year, I will have gotten 2 dogs a baby and a fiancé

Life is good!

Thanks again all... HOpefully we'll be in Moab next year, So Brittany and Berlynn can roll down the sand hill out of the Cowboy Caves on Dome Plateau together ;) eh Tom?

Sounds like a replay of the last six months of my life... Got engaged on New Year's Eve, had our daughter Mahalia in February... you are in for one heck of a ride bud! But it'll all be worth it when you get to hold the baby for the first time.

Congrats!!!

...and my excuse is the same as Tom's. Utah is way the @#%! too far for those of us on the east coast (Marlin excluded ;)). The pictures are incredible and I hope to come some day, but until then, hoping for another mega event within a 1500 mile radius.

My reasons for missing Moab:
It was awesome, the scenery was incredible, the people were cool (mostly, some were just strange....... well, not some, just one), wheeling the VX is as good as it gets. The weather was perfect...there are a lot more reasons for missing Moab I am sure.

... says the guy from one state away.

If only it was about the mileage... Unless these driving partners can donate the additional four days of vacation time that it would cost me just to get out there (let alone the week actually spent there), shotgunning won't help. I love you guys, but it's hard to carve out that much time when I need most (if not all) of it just to visit family at the holidays, let alone take a day or two off here or there for other events.

Within the original context of this thread, MISS Moab was originally intended to mean why you weren't there...:rolleyesg
May I assume you are referring to me when you mention "well, not some, just one"...
If so, thank you, I consider that pretty high praise coming from you......:laughgray

After two campaigns to Moab, I retired the beloved Ebony from off-roading. I do miss the beautiful scenery, the great company of my fellow Isuzoo mates and the excitement of gathering so many VX's in one place from around the country. I dont wish for trail trophies or putting huge amounts on mileage on the girl.

I's just a city gurl and so is my VX.

I thought it was a very clever and equally valid interpretation of the thread title:)

You wheelin buds did miss you guys on the last day when we went to Top of the World. The backseat of a VX is not the best place to be when its 90 degrees and bouncing around. But they may be the only kids to ever wheel in the front seat of a VX at Moab. They are gonna have some stories, thats for sure.

Yes I was talking about you...

1) Paid for last years trip (2008) with O.T.----no O.T. this year w/slumping economy.
2) Bought Mustang GT....refer to #1
3) got 90+K miles now on VX....my faith in her making it there; banging on rocks (surviving trails) and making it back intact is alot lower than @ 70k.
See #1
4) Loved the VX'ers...('cept one! ); Loved the scenery; too much a loner to enjoy traveling with others (i.e. convoys); absolutely hated driving in (city of) Denver .......see #1!

*Loved the dunes though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dunes Rock!!!!!!!!

Bah. Almost every Isuzu there has more than 90K miles...mine has 130K, many have more than that too.
