Anyone who has seen Rickshaws VX in person will agree...as good as it looks in pictures, they just don't do it justice! It is THE cleanest VX I've ever seen.

Outstanding!
The cleanest VX I've had the pleasure of seeing in person, now with the "attitude" it deserves!
Have you noticed any handling difference on road after the lift?
Best,

Simply outstanding! I'll probably be looking at doing a subtle lift and tire upgrade over the next few months, so I think I speak for everyone when I say thanks for the research!

rickshaw,

The additional dome light is the one mod that I have been really itching to do. It's so darn dark back there, and with tinted windows at night it's like looking into a black hole. Thanks for posting the pictures and the parts numbers.

On a separate note; I've seen your pictures, and heard stories from others about how clean your VX is. What I want to know is how the heck you keep the under carriage so clean? The thing looks like it just rolled off the show room floor. Everything is painted black (without a scratch) and the bolts are all still shiney and gold colored. Heck, even if you never drive it in the rain, just normal road dirt would get up in there. Very impressive.

I have the same question, and I don't mean it rhetorically. Aside from "get underneath your vehicle and start cleaning stuff" is there any guidance you can provide on how to go about it? Im a bit intimidated by the amount of dirty and, more importantly, rusty stuff under there. Same question goes to the engine compartment. Did you steam clean it, degrease it, or just use a lot of elbow grease?

When I was doing the tests for the 913 Springs, I ended up changing the spring set-up a total of seven times. Since I was under there I started cleaning a section at a time. I put a few hours into it but nothing major. This is what I used:

Basic 409 and scrub brush.

For greasy spots and getting off the old factory undercoat wax I used
White Lightning Clean Streak Dry Degreaser (bicycle chain cleaner)
Because I had it laying around. I found it doesn't dull the paint like Gunk did.

Yes, I waxed underneath the VX.
Meguiar’s NXT Generation Tech Wax (Liquid)
This is good wax for this since it leaves no white residue.
I figure it makes it harder for the dirt and grease to stick.

I haven't repainted anything yet. There is very little rust maybe because it's been garaged.

unbelievable job man.
Only other cars I have seen like that are in car shows, and not driven there either - enclosed trailers only.

Partially Debadged

I Debadged the large ISUZU off the back just after I bought it and the 4.5L came off shortly after. I used a hair dryer and dental floss to remove the badges.

Damn, Gene!
I know your Dragon is special, but a 4.5L?

Man that looks good! That is one clean machine. Be carful when moding the foot pedals, there's been some accidents caused by people stepping on the brakes and the gas at the same time because the gas pedal was too wide.

Hexomat just came out with a custom-fit backseat mat for the VX ()http://www.autoanything.com/floor-mats/75A2570A0A0A.aspx (http://www.autoanything.com/floor-mats/75A2570A0A0A.aspx) that I'm probably going to order in the next few weeks. I already have their cargo area mat which is a near perfect fit out of the box, so hoping for the same quality there as well. I'll post pics in a different thread when I get it installed, but thought I'd post a link here in case anyone else might be interested.

We now return you from this mild thread jack... ;)

It's advantage to own a garage, unfotunatly i only got a open driveway so if any job is to be done it's at the weather mercy :(

Ditto. It does look totally awesome from the back-end. The shoddy welds and overall bad workmanship of the muffler shop is hidden unless someone is down on their knees looking at the undercarriage.

In the one picture showing the rear differential/axle-- I can see you with the camera laying on the concrete garage floor taking the picture in the "reflection" of the rear differential housing. That is just wrong!!!

You have obviously not seen Rickshaws VX up close and personal. It begs to be crawled under and oogled over. You could litteraly eat off of the undercarrage!

TRIATHLETE--- Yes, I agree that the undercarriage is spotless. However; you must not have seen the other thread of Rickshaw's shoddy new muffler installation and the terrible workmanship by the muffler shop (that is what I was referring to in my statement).
