Anyone in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois or Indiana or any place close to that area wanna get together before MOAB? i know i wont be able to make it to MOAB so i would like to see you all before you leave.

We could meet in Chicago or Lake Geneva like last time i have no problem with dates whatever works better for all of you and when most people can make it.

I know the Chicago VX'ers used to get together somewhere in Illinois. so If you can throw some ideas I would appreciate it :)

Lets make this BIG!

ooooor we can always go to do a little offroading in the Badlands in Indiana, i went there with Gill and Cece a couple of months ago and i had a lot of fun, other than a broken muffler pipe my VX stayed intact, no lift just my new Terra Grapplers usual size 285 60 18.
If you dont want to then ok we can just go get lunch hang out somewhere and make new friends and see old ones!

Hell yeah! Sorry you can't make Moab this year, but a Midwest meet is a great idea. I say we meet up on May 2nd or 3rd, in Lake Geneva, at Fischer's again. Decent food, and plenty of parking. Room to show off the VXes!

Fischer's on Buttons Bay

come on people! the date is not set but whatever works for most of us, i can any weekend.

Sorry, I realize distance shouldn't be a problem for a VX owner, but Chicago is about 7 hours one-way for me (Lake Geneva an additional hour or so), so it'd probably be cheaper for me to fly, although that would sort of defeat the purpose of going to a car meet.

Maybe something sometime mid-state around Effingham? That would only be about 3-4 hours away. Appreciate the invite just the same though.

Great idea, but I can't make april 25. I'm in for May 2nd or 3rd.

Like I mentioned above since we have North and South Illinoisan's (and any surrounding states) I'm in Central Illinois and would be happy to find a place in Springfield ( 30 miles east of me ). Or I would be glad to host a Gathering at my place. I would be honored....

Pepino

changed the date for May 2nd

Pepino

I changed the date and then the people who said that were going or no got erased...

Thanks for doing the Midwest Meet Pepino but I can't make it, Weekends are tough for me unless I have sufficient time in advance to take time off. My work schedule is...I work Fri, Sat and Sun 5am to 5pm and I have Monday - Thursday off, really a sweet deal work 36 hrs and get paid 40..with 4 days in a row off...especially being a single father it's nice for to/from school etc.. But I would defiantly take a Saturday off for a Central Illinois meet.

Pepino

No worries Vcrossfan, we will plan one next time, hopefully soon and something that could work for you too, how far are you from Milwaukee, i wouldnt mind driving down there for a meet some time.

I think having a meet a few hours South would rock. Meet some of you that can't make it up North... Maybe have another one (after Moab) in June or July. We'll figure out those details later.

Hi All,
Are we gonna park first in town like last year? Hopefully we'll get a better day.

Pepino
04/26/2009, 08:26 PM
According to Weather.com the hi for saturday is going to be 60 and the low 42 partly cloudly i am sure the forecast gets better the closer we get to that day. We can meet in town and then drive from there or meet directly at Fischers, i think it would be cool to meet again in the middle of town and then drive.

04/26/2009, 09:19 PM
That sounds like a good plan. If I remember correctly it was rainy and cold last year. 60 & cloudy would be good.

Sadly my vx is going to the dealership for service on may 1st.....the day before the mini mid west meet. The dealer is 80+ miles away and I don't know if it will be fixed right away or not. Hopefully they figure out the problem and hopefully it will work out. Its throwing the P0402 code and its idleing like crap. It's due for major service; like all the fluids etc.Valve lash adjustments too. I'll either be happy and be in Lake Geneva.........or I will be vx-less for the weekend and not be there.

Pepino
04/27/2009, 04:41 PM
I can always pick you up if your VX is not ready so that you get to that VX meet even if you dont have your Vx with you, where is that dealership your saying, i havent found one anywhere close to milwaukee

BUSTED! I was going to surprise my fellow Moab VXers with my new rims (even had the rusty steel wheels when we made the trek to Austin), but I forgot about the Midwset meet...

They are mine, and make the VX and the Pro Comp Xterrains look MUCH better!

vxstickers-
whats with the white tubes going into it? breathers? water drainage?

whats with the FBI?? is that to direct some of the fresh air straight to your intake??

did you mount and do the glassing yourself??

VXstickers
05/05/2009, 09:46 AM
Hi pbkid,
You are correct the tubes are for draining any water from up in the scoop. F.B.I. is just a name I gave the system. It stands for Free Breathe Intake. I bought the scoop (below) from racecomposites for $80.00. I did fiberglass, sand & prep it myself. I had maaco paint it for $100.00.

pbkid
05/05/2009, 10:44 AM
ya i was looking at carbon creations last night...they have a carbon fiber one for $100, thinking of glassing that in and going some custom paint to leave the carbon showing on the scoop, with the hood black...

thanks for tryin that out, ive been wondering how one of those would look on a VX, now that i see it i like it.

VXstickers
05/05/2009, 11:49 AM
They do look better molded on. At first I had it bolted on and fitted well but it still looked like it was just sitting there. If you decide to make it functional let me know and I'll tell you what I did and how. I've driven in the rain several times now with nothing more than a drop or two in the engine compartment. I'm also just about through my first full tank of gas and seem to have gotton a little better milage.

vt_maverick
05/05/2009, 12:06 PM
 Ray that hood scoop is bad ***! The STi scoop is sharp too, but I agree that the bigger size looks great, especially on a lifted VX.

You know if you had the time to reproduce your set-up I bet you could find buyers... (hint hint) ;)

Thanks maverick,
I wish I had time to make more of these. It took me 2 weeks because I could only spend a little time each day to work on it. It really isn't to hard so I'd encourage people to go for it. Again I'd be glad to help anyone through the project if they need help.
