Hi everyone!
I bought Isuzu VehiCross (Dragon Green 2000) in the State of Connecticut several months ago, after purchase the car was shipped overseas to Switzerland. Now I’m going through the process of vehicle’s registration with local authorities here. The point I’m looking for (required by Swiss Motor Vehicle Department) is any sort of confirmation of NOISE & EXHAUST EMISSION LEVELS for this type of car. But unfortunately I don't have any document containing such information..
Any ideas/help/info/advice or actual documents regarding this matter will be really appreciated!!! Thanks in advance!

Hello and welcome to the obsession. You might try thumbing thru the workshop manual that is available here for download. It is in the Adobe PDF format, so you will need the reader which is also a free download from Adobe. Not sure if you will have any issues downloading where your at.

IL, I would also suggest to search US car magazine archives... one of them may have the noise information. That said, I do not know any magazine that lists pollution levels or exterior noise levels - the VX may be old enough to be excused from this documentation requirement.

I still have my 1999 Car & Driver issue with the preview of the VehiCROSS, but I am pretty sure that it is only a preview and has no test results - otherwise they would have offered interior sound levels at least.

Good luck!

I will check my specs sheet on the VX. It might have the info there.

I searched & couldn't find anything.

I also contacted a Human Factors Engineering specialist & was told that there are no Government Regs on noise levels for passenger vehicles. There are OSHA standards but all passenger cars are so far below those levels that it won't be of any benefit either.

I'll keep looking.

There is a Vehicle Emissions Category Identification sticker on the underside of the hood that provides the US emissions regulations the vehicle is subject to in this country. The category is TLEV.

Perhaps there is a similar type European category that could be used as a comparison?
