Took my '00 VX in to shop for idling issue - it was idling at 3000rpm intermittently. Sometimes, everything is fine. Then, it wouldn't stay running at all. Now it's back to idling high again. The genius at the shop said it was the idle air control but that was not it. Now he says it is the ECM that needs to be replaced. Any ideas or does anyone have an ECM for sale..please help

i would
try cleaning the MAF (mass air flow) sensor
replacing the FPR (fuel pressure regulator)
replacing the throttle control sensor
searching this forum for "high idle" or "idle issues"
finding a new shop
also read that high RPMs has been caused by too much pressure in the power steering system.. i dunno how that one works.. but its been documented here..
in short.. dont replace the ECM.. its going to be expensive and i can tell you 90% sure it wont do a thing for your idle

Intake gaskets leaking give same problem....I agree, NOT ECM even though I have one for sale. Spray starting fluid around the intake gasket and check for leaks or change in idle while spraying

ETLSPORT--- I like your advice point of: "Find a New Shop". Wise, very wise.
