Right before I decided to stroke out and take a ride on the short bus for awhile, my 29 year old nephew was diagnosed with cancer (Ewings Sarcoma). We got better together and everything was look good. This morning we got that ominous phone call at 5am letting us know that he was not doing well and he was not expected to last the night.
It's now past the point of any type of treatment and we are just waiting for the end to come.

I ask for any and all prayers and thoughts that you can spare for his quest for peace and tranquility.

Thanks in advance

Scott,
He will be in our prayers at the Workman house. Damn, it sucks when they're that young and younger. You take care of yourself, as well. 'Bren.

Scott, I pray that your nephew knows that the Lord loves him and that the eternity that awaits him is more amazing than human words can describe! I know that there is a God as I had an out of body experience that changed my life... it's a long story. I will pray for peace for you and your family as you will be missing him when he leaves this world. God is good and DOES love us.

in the Lord, Julie

I am so sorry to hear the news. Scott, I believe with all that I am that Christ did not come to save us from our circumstances but to save us in the midst of our circumstances no matter what they are, so my prayer for you and your loved ones is that in the midst of this crazy world that seems so unfair at times you and your loved ones might find a peace that surpasses all human understanding and a joy that is rooted in things higher than this world no matter the circumstance I pray that you all have an eternal joy and eternal peace. -Ryan

Lord, be with the doctors guiding the care for this young man. Place those around him to comfort and care for him in the best possible way. Be with the family as they struggle and ask why this has to happen to someone so young. May your peace be evident through the situation.

Thank you for how you continue to heal Scott, may he have a full recovery.

In Jesus name, amen

I really appreciate all of the energy your guys can produce. It really showed when I needed it. However, my nephew, Nick, passed last night. He was surrounded by his family and some of his best friends.

I thank you again for your unselfish support of me and my family. 2009 has got to be a better year!

Unfortunately, one of my instructors recently had to share a similar story when his 25 year old nephew lost his battle with MS. We were of the opinion that consolation could be taken in the thought that he was just being called to serve a higher purpose.

My sincere condolences for your familys' loss.

Scott, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family for your loss. Unfortunately, only time can heal these type of wounds. Some wounds require more time than others to heal. I've always found it best to dwell on the great memories from the past that your loved one provided, and not dwell too much on the present scenario. May the joyful memories of your beloved Nephew "overpower" those thoughts of sorrow and help mend your broken heart.
