Hello,

As a new member I am shopping for a VX - - -will definitely be DEBADGING From the photo's I've seen they look awesome debadged.

Also I've been thinking of Painting a VX O.D. Green (flat army green) would really screw up others looking at it wondering what it is ?

Wanted to get the opinion of others on this. Might take me a few weeks to find the right VX, but figured the help of others with knowledge of the VX could be beneficial in finding the right one.

Any opinions on an Army - O.D. Green Vehicross ?

can any one with some photo shop experience dress up a photo so show how it might look. Personally I'd leave the cladding black and the remainder green.

Let me know,

Thanxs.

I think it will depend on if you go flat, satin or gloss. A true "flat" paint will be very difficult to care for and a gloss would probably not be the look you really want. I think a "satin" or "matte" finish would look pretty cool, but you would have to maintain the contrast of the cladding and paint it black. Or, you could paint the whole thing (body, cladding and hood insert) O.D. green, but it is just my opinion that going one uniform color can kill the styling of the VX if you are not carefull. The exception here, is all black. :) Obviously, I am a big fan of the Black on Black look, but with lighter colors, I think you need to maintain proper contrast and with colors that "match". I was thinking a desert camo VX would also look really good (I want a second one so I can do this to it), but again, in my mind I cannot figure out how I would do it with grey cladding, because khaki and grey doesn't really match.

There are a lot of heavily painted VXes out there for you to look at and think about. Its all personal taste, so I think as long as you are happy with the outcome, who cares!

Thinking about the OD green idea, what about OD green cladding and camoflague body? Or vise versa? You could probably do some neat stuff with OD Green, like paint white star on the side or some other symbol to break it up a little, and make it totally unique like a military prototype or something.

Here are some pics to think about:

Solid color VX:

There are many more out there. Bubalicious orange, bright red, etc. Just do a search and see what comes up.

If you do paint it OD try and fined a nice set of steel 60s GM rally wheels with out hub caps then paint them OD. It will look really good and give it a military tuff look that will complement your VX. You can order them to fit.

What i'll suggest to you is to go at the VX japanese cyber board & look at all those excelent colors, you may change your mind about that color you talk about

Personally i love 5 colors black,red,silver,yellow & blue ;)

Also check those dragon green VX's on the board; You can re-define your vision of a green VX & make a smater choice ;)

*Fixed* ;)

But seriously if you want it Green or especially flat green, just go muddin in some nasty stuff, then if you don't like it go wash it off. I personally do not like green on any vehicle and definitely do not like flat colors on the VX at all, so maybe you shouldn't listen to me at all, but then again I probably didn't have to say that.

2 things I do want to see:
-VX painted ALL BLACK with 20" rims and 35" tires (not the 16" rims on the all black vx we have all seen photos of)
-VX painted in all Lexus white or BMW white (the ones with the pearl shine that shows just a hint of blue, but not overpowering like the hint of red in some that make them look pink, blah)

I like OD green on some cars, honestly I don't think it looks right on a VX though.

matte colors look best when they're in contrast to non matte. On a normal car a matte body in contrast to shiny lights, wheels, trim, etc. looks fantastic.

the problem on the VX is that the cladding is already matte and I think it would just look bad if you did the whole thing in a matte too.

OD green might look ok on the body if you did the cladding in a gloss black. but not with the cladding as normal IMO.

^one of the members of my local 240sx club.

Everyone I know with flat paint has a really sh*tty car, and I probably know about a dozen people with flat paint cars. Typically that's what they get painted when they body gets trashed and they're too lazy to fix it properly

"Personally i love 5 colors black,red,silver,white & blue"

You 'dissed' my rims

You ignore my color - (Protons rock)

What's next - you gonna tell me I'm too old to drive a VX?

Honestly LittleBeast, did I anger you in a previous life???

First of all I sorta kinda dissed your offset, yes.....
I did not ignore your color I just stated the obvious, why get yellow when you can get black?
And it really depends on how old you are, how old are you? lol.....
Maybe you did anger me in a previous life, or maybe I am haunted by my previous life where I had a yellow car with tires that could hit a car two lanes over and now I am trying to make things right..... Or it could be that the VX is so unique that not even some questionable offset or weird spare or out there color could make it that less of an amazing ride..... Or I could've been your jealous younger brother in a previous life and now I will hate on anything you do..... oh wait..... there now I am done overusing periods :)

If you are going to buy a vehicle that stands out then pick a color that stands out even more.

Yeah or get a vehicle that stands out, in the best color, lol...... (black, but I probably didn't need to say that)

thinking about it a little more if you like the pale green color I think a Nissan "Millennium Jade Green" in a regular gloss would look GREAT on a VX.. leave the cladding as-is
