I was out driving around in a pretty wild storm last
nite for a few hours
(took some video too) but the Vx ran great and had
alot of fun.
About a block from my house my CE lite came on, no
biggie, was going to check it out today, got home and
parked it.
Today went to hop in and take off, but when I hit the
key, just "clicking noise" was all I got from the selenoid.
Thought it was a low battery, so charged the battery
today, tested it in another car, it was fine.
Put it back in the Vx and same thing. Just clicking etc.
I think either the started got submerged, or selenoid
last nite possibly messing it up, or cable to the starter
loose or damaged.
Next step probably will be pull the starter etc and get
them tested.
Anyone run into this prior on their Vx ?

I'd check your battery cables first. Sounds more probable and easier.
Only got a few sprinkles early in the morning on my side of town (SW).

wow, really ? Im near Grant and Swan it we got hammered
for about 3 hours straight...
between the lightening show, power outtages, and rivers..
I mean street flooding, it was a pretty wild nite of driving.

First thing I checked where the cables at the battery
but checking the connection at the starter too once
pull it., thanks.

I had a problem in Jan/Feb this year like you have and it turned out to be my original battery terminals (they had become conical shaped over the years) I suppose from removing to reboot or clear a cell. They apparently were only making good contact with the battery terminal near the top and "coned" away from the terminal going down the battery post. I put new terminals on (regular style ones from advance/autozone??) and haven't had a problem since.

I let the car dry out and sit for 2 days
cleaned the post and cables at the battery
and now, it starts fine.

Still have the CEL
code came back as 2nd Bank 2nd O2 sensor
downstream .

Could also be just a bad non sealing gascap too.

Ill probably end up buying both O2s for the pass
side and a new gascap just to be safe.

and then O2s for the dr side in a few more weeks.
all 4 look original and the Vx has 113k on it anyways.

thanks guys
