Ordered the 6022si speakers on Sunday. I did a Froogle search, and found a company( HookedOnTronics.com) They were 40 bucks a pair cheaper than Crutchfield, and offered free shipping. Imagine how suprised I was when the box was sitting on my porch this afternoon! $125 for four, delivered in under 48 hours.http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/data/500/thumbs/IMG_2147.JPG (http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=10702)

Sweet deal Chopper...Oh, and by the way, that skull belongs on top of your VX, not on top of your tool box.:smilewink

Check out the new sheep skull I got today...it's a beaut. You can't miss it....I posted it twice by accident. I'm not real strong on the picture thing yet...I've only had 6 years to work it out.

Chop: Might be a dumb question but are the Infinity's replacing your 4 main stock one's in your VX??

I getting ready to upgrade my Pioneer head unit and the China(ebay) motorized monitor for an all-in-one Pioneer model AVH-P4900DVD touch screen also a Pioneer CD-IB100II iPod ADAPTER and a so-so Kenwood powered sub and I still have the stock speakers and will need to upgrade...I'm not after a crazy loud system just a nice comfy sound..

Yes, these are direct replacements. A bit of fitting is required for the rear, but not much really. No plastic will be cut. They will handle much more power than stock, but they require little power to operate well. Pretty efficient.

Could you by chance take a picture of your bracket after you make the larger hole for the new speakers? After seeing your order, I picked up a pair for the rear... ALL my speakers are blown. I think I need a hole saw, and the new hole diameter needs to be 5" correct??

I already got one side panel off WITHOUT breaking any clips/clip holders!! Those things are a pain...

Thanks.

here are a couple photos of mine.. what i did was take the cardboard out of the box and use that as a template to see exactly where i should make my cuts, tried to avoid the nuts on the bracket but had to cut through one still

I'm with ETL on this, an angle grinder would be the way to go, since you have no place for a pilot bit to keep you centered.
A hole saw would spin ya right round & get all kinda scary.

Sweet, I have an angle grinder, so that shouldn't be an issue. Also, once I get the speakers mounted, did you have any issues fitting the panel back on because of it being taller/larger diameter?

And another non rear speaker related Q, my new alpines came with crossovers for the tweeters?? Do the stock tweeters have crossovers built into them?

What do I do with the crossovers?... I've never installed tweeters before. Will they conflict with the stock isuzu deck if I just hook them up in line?

Someone told me they would cause issues if I didn't hook them up right... Its rather discouraging knowing I have the speakers, but not having a clue what to do with the wiring :(

the crossovers my fronts came with you just run the 1 channel out of the amp into the crossover.. then the crossover has 2 outputs, one for the tweeters one for the woofer.. makes life easy.. i would think your alpines would have that too..

i dont have them with me but iirc the stock tweeters to have a crossover in the wiring attached to the tweeter so if you splice in your own wiring you wont be using it

The alpine tweeters came with new wire, So I am assuming since the old tweeters have a crossover in the wiring, ill just rip that out and use the new ones and ziptie them in the door? or would you put them somewhere else??

Also, when you say out to amp, if I don't have an amp, that just means to the deck right? Sorry... I'm a complete newb... :grinr:

Thanks for the help!
