View Full Version : Pure Silicone radiator hoses now available

We just got our first batch in only a few sets.
Blue and black so far (red will be available in the future)
These are replacement silicone upper and lower radiator hoses.
Inspired by Rally Racing, with companys like Samco etc.
The US military and govt has been using silicone hoses on their
own vehicles for over 20 yrs. This includes your hwy patrol cars
, FBI vehicles etc.
They use them because they rarely if ever go bad and break.
Sounds like a good thing to have if you are on a rd trip or off
roading somewhere :)

For anyone interested, you can email us.
The first batch is ready to ship and we are taking orders for the
next batch.
They usually sell for $150 for the pair, Im going to market them at
only $125 for the set for as long as we can.

will these do anything other than look better and last longer than the stockers? (ie is it worth getting them now or just waiting for the stock ones to go bad)

Well, let me ask. Right where my upper hose connects to the radiator in the front of my engine bay, I notice periodic coolant leaks there. Its nothing big, just a little leaking. Do you think this could be related to a cracking or dried out hose? Would a replacement hose help in this area?

Also, how hard is it to change out yourself? Or is this something you should have a radiator shop perform?

I have yellow and Red coming on my next batch
Green has yet to be availalbe :( sorry. But black
goes with anything :)
To me, preventive maintance is key, and if you have
over 80k on your stock hoses, you may want to consider
putting these on prior to any leaking or bursting in the summer
while stuck in traffic etc.
An easy way to ruin an aluminum motor like ours is to overheat
it too much.
For the leaking syndrome, it could be your hose or more likely
it could be where the plastic tank meets the aluminum..over time
they tend to split right there and will cause a leak, which will only
get worse over time.
As for installing them, if you are a little mechanically inclined and
have a few tools and an hour to kill, you can usually do it yourself.
Have a gallon of antifreeze around to be able to refill your system
when you are done and be sure to properly dispose of the old stuff
away from pets and a way thats good for the invironment :)

Yeah, is there a proper way to drain the old fluid? This might be something I do next month. Like I said, I have had periodic leaks here and there. Some under the engine that I have not located yet. Just little drips.

I wonder if a new radiator and new hoses would be an ok idea now that I am at 65k.

FYI, regular hose clamps will eat up the supple silicone hoses.
You might want to consider an investment in some t-bolt clamps, or another style that doesn't allow the clamp to slide along the hose while tightening.

I'd probably be a good idea to throw in T-bolts with the set. How do I make a deposit on a red set?

Bart Check this out now...it could get big ugly big quick! Make sure that rad neck isn't cracked....if it's the hose, change them. Do it yourself, it's nothing...throw in a flush while you're at it.

I'd go for a set of those.

The bigger hose is no longer available from isuzu btw.

So a red set for $125 will be available when? The t clamps should be easy to attain right?

Ill have Red in a few weeks
currently have black and blue on hand...
tbolts are a little overkill, you can actually
damage your outlets if you where to overtighten them...
I suggest using new std worm clamps or even the factory'
clamps are very nice, new or used.

are there any plans to have green "in the works"?, I realize you don't have them now but is it like not going to happen or just not for a few months,
best guess if you don't know, thanks!

They fit VERY well...perfect replica of originals contours

Only issue was original clamps would not fit round new hoses.
Silicone hoses a bit bigger OD....hence hose clamps .

Hey Joe, looks good. So how was the install? Pretty easy?

Thanks,

Hey Bart

Pretty simple job...had to cut one of the original clamps off as it was jammed.
Other than that......took about 45 mins.
Refilled coolant...ran engine with heater on to purge air..topped off coolant.
