View Full Version : So, has anyone tried to apply that 3M film to their headlights?

I'm curious (1) if it will prevent or delay the hazing after a good cleaning and (2) if it is possible to mold it cleanly around the horns...

I'm thinking of picking up a sheet 3M film off ebay or something and give it a whirl. I do think however that I'll run into some difficulty forming it over the horns without creasing. I may have to go around the horns. Or does this stuff have some stretchy properties?

I wonder if any type has some UV protection qualities...

Any thoughts? Has someone tried this?

Cheers.

Rowhard, "John" has a tinted film applied to his headlights.
Looks great, he said he was worried that they would have a tough time around the horns.

Yes, I had it done after I removed the heavy gouges from the shippers. I had it done by a professional, there is some voids around the horn lights but the protection offered is worth it as far as I am concerned. Not tinted, but clear.
