Not exactly for a VX, but it could be. I've sold my VX but still mod my Trooper. I've come here because of the creative interior mods that VX owners are known for.

What I've done is install a manually shifted "auto" in my Trooper. Currently I have a pretty fugly set of pushbuttons for up/down. I'd really like to have paddle shifters. Short of that a set of buttons on the steering wheel would be good. Failing that maybe just a better idea for mounting two pushbuttons on the shifter.

You can read about the swap here, with pics of my fugly buttons towards the end: I've sold my VX but still mod my Trooper.

How about using the steering wheel from a DSG-equipped VW? That's got padddle shift built in, plus some other cool switches, so all you'd need to do is adapt the shaft.

One of the early Toyota supra wheels with buttons is more likely to fit. I'll keep my eyes out for one on ebay.
