only 2 of us showed up... but that didnt stop us from having a load of fun!
we stuck to pretty mild (green) trails the first day... skid plates really came in handy!! have a few large scratches on them now heh.. towards the end of the day we got a little more adventurous and got some 3 wheeling action.. then we made a wrong turn on a trail and a ranger was there to show us the way back... of course she decided it would be fun to test the VXs and take us straight down the side of the mountain! good times we made it with little trouble
2nd day was just me and a friend of mine in a jeep... we did some more difficult trails that tested us pretty good.. a few times i got very nervous.. made it through ok.. we were stopped for lunch and a group of highly modified jeeps and land rovers came though and they stopped next to us and i got to talkin to one of them asking about the best way back to camp... he asked what direction we came from and when i pointed down the trail he had just come down he said WHAT!? u came down that too?? then pointed over to my VX and siad.. wait so youre telling me that thing in front of the jeep made it down that trail?? i said yep.. he says... its even got street tires!!... yep... he was impressed :cool: on the way back i got high centered on a big ol rock :( just took a bad line and didnt see it there, had nothin to do with the vx.. we were about to strap me up and pull me off sideways (and scratch up the side panel) but lucky for us the jeep guy who was impressed by the vx drove by with a hi-lift and got my vx up in the air (via tone's hitch) so we could get some rocks under the rear tires and i was able to drive over it without and damage (that ive seen yet.. vx is still really dirty) but it was good times for sure... cant wait to do it again
