OK, so I got Tone's scanguage (thanks Tone, you rule!).

Wow, this thing is alot smaller than I thought! Now, my question, has anyone ever moved their POWER and WINTER buttons to somewhere else? Like to one of the empty switch spots? The scanguage would fit PERFECTLY in the space where these buttons are stock. I was thinking of taking that piece off, Dremeling a rectangular hole for it, and embedding it in there. This would be sweet, but could it be done? I don't know what is under there (i.e. if there is even enough room), but man, this would be purrrfect!

Maybe I have just had too many Blue Moons tonight though...

What do you all think?

You may want to look at cutting out the plastic ECU cover under the cd changer - some have put gauges there. Fuzzy hole might also be a possibility. I keep mine on the far left of the dash behind my inspection and registration stickers so it is in direct eyesight (espec. MPH) and can easily be removed to scan/reset other's codes.

If you don't smoke , it will fit perfect where the ash tray is with out any modifications. Check out my gallery.

ASHTRAY: Possibility, but I have my Vector power invertor cable inside the ashtray already, however, I could figure out something to have the scanguage on top of the ashtray cover.

ON TOP OF THE WIRING AREA UNDER THE BOTTON DIN: Hmmm, I really want the scanguage to fit in somewhere where it will not protrude, so this might work. But how much space is back there? I'll have to take the cover off and see this weekend.

FUZZY HOLE: Nope, I already keep a change dispenser there, it fits perfect and I have gotten quite used to it being there, but if all else fails, this may be where it ends up.

Much more thinking to do, and much more drinking...

 :p

yeah bart i was so close to doing what u are saying about the winter and power modes, like i had my console out and all, ready to cut then decided against it because i work on other peoples cars so often that being able to pull my scangauge out and hook it up in another car is essential (tone hooked me up with a second cord for a good price, so my cord is nicely routed behind the dash and i can just unplug the RJ45, and take out the other cord which i keep with my jack, i have mine sitting just infront of the auto shifter it works well for me, but my shifters are much shorter than stock (like 1/3 the height)http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/data/500/thumbs/knobs_004.jpg (http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/data/500/knobs_004.jpg)
