We had three VXs, 1 Amigo,1 Rodeo, 2 Jeeps, a Mitz,a Ranger and a Taco;15 folks all together. NW VXers who didn't attend missed a great time!

Rick, did you win the OR rallycross with the VX? or was it in something else?

Looks like a great time, I mean to get up there & try it one day.Tire types, sizes & pressure? Any problems with sand clogging the radiator fins? Compulsive Vxers wash their rides both Before & After a run.

Looks like great fun Rick!! I'll be at Crater Lake in June, anywhere's close to you?

Crater Lake is about oh... 6 to 7 hours from Seattle and about 3 to 4 from where I am. It's definitely worth a visit... it won't look the same soon. Some fungus brought here on some seedlings from France is killing the white barked pine all around the crater. The forestry service has been working very hard finding and cultivating trees that are resistant to the fungus but they can't keep up with the amount of trees the fungus has destroyed.

Paul: I do rallycross in my VX. You interested? RX events are usually in the Portland area.

Dragon: Tire type is not as important as tire pressure in the sand. The lower you go, the better the sand "flotation" and traction, but the greater the risk of losing a bead seal. BFG ATs are fair in the mud, but pretty good in the sand due to the closed tread lug design. Stock tires are fine. I've never had a problem with sand in the radiator

Scott: Paul is right, Crater lake is about 6.5 hours S of Seattle. As long as you're going that far, come on up and we'll throw a NW VX party for you!

Pine-eating fungus: Where else woulk it be from;)

Guys, guys, GUYS! Now you're talkin! I'm up for a Crater Lake meet for sure! Crater Lake was the first natural attraction that I was priviledged to see in the NW about 2 years ago. I haven't been there since and would LOVE to go back! Let me know if someone wants to plan a time and place!

Oh, and Rick... clue me in on the RX events in the Portland area as I may be interested as well!!!

Crater Lake is most excellent.

Here's some pics I took last time I stopped by on my way to Seattle:
