...custom Fab!!!!!

That would be pretty sweet, but I imagine the design would be quite a challenge. Would you want it to cover the front cladding or completely replace it? I think the latter would give you much more freedom with your design and would look a hundred times better, but you might need to cut your cladding or fab up a custom "half cladding" to replace the upper part that wouldn't be covered by the bumper.

Functionally it would be great - you could build in custom light mounts, a winch, a skidplate, etc. It wouldn't be cheap though.

I would be awesome if it could mimick the curves of the front bumper but with sheet metal, and a bull-bar.

I thought about that, but I think it would be VERY difficult to fab, and probably not NEARLY as strong as the ARB style box & tube bumper. You'd lose all function for form.

Keep the curves over the fender and box it out under the grill.........

Nerve_Gas and I have been looking into this.

Iron Pig Offroad (http://www.ironpigoffroad.com/) said he could do it for about $750. He said he could fab the front cladding piece in 3/16" with 1/4" mounts, winch compatable. He would just need the rig and winch for about a week for fab & fitment. Problem was nobody near Fredericksburg, VA to give up a VX.

Short of the exact curve of the cladding piece, we were looking at having something like a Fab Fours (http://www.fabfours.com/Portals/8ac70342-b4cb-4dd3-91d0-fd3937e6e772/images/a1052.jpg) bumper put together. Just need to find a shop to do it.

If you find somebody to fab it up for under $1200, I would buy one in a heartbeat!

xref my other posts: 1 (http://www.vehicross.info/forums/showthread.php?t=6818), 2 (http://www.vehicross.info/forums/showthread.php?t=7899)

PS. I also want a rear bumper with integrated hitch fab'ed , but the front is priority.

Well, I've got a VX that I could give up for fitment on these types of projects, provided the work would be done in the PNW.

The budget is going to be tight this year, so I'll be choosing my projects carefully, but I'd love to see this and a heavy duty rear bumper built for the VX, so even if I can't buy one, I'd let my VX sit at a shop for a while if it helps out the club.

yea i was figuring about 800 for the front bumper...yea i was thinking kinda square and strong right in the front and more curved with the body on the sides...ill be looking around for the next 6 months for a shop that can do it well for a decent price...im really excited to see what the VX would look like with some more serious heavy offroad stuff on it =)
