did you know that the vx is almost exactly 8' long from the dash to the back door with the spare tire cover and tire removed.. and the spare tire layed down on the floor keeps the wood from sliding around! haha

So...what are you going to build inside the VX? Bunk beds for sleeping more inside? Replace the interior plastic panels with dry wall? Build a really strong pet cage?

Did you know, and I didn't take pictures, but JoFotoz can confirm, being a witness, that with the back seat removed, you can fit 2 (yes 2) 55 gallon oil drums and still see out the back window. Anyone for 110 gal tank? You could get accross the country nonstop! I think a good thread would be, "what is the weirdest thing you have ever had in your VX?" Pics a must. I'll try to get my oil drums back in and post a photo.-John

not exactly weird, but a couple nights ago my buddy saw the last 42'' flat screen at Costco marked down and decided to get it, since i had the VX and all.

we thought it would fit no prob...but ended up taking the side streets all the way to his place with the back hatch completely straight open and my buddy kneeling on the front seat, facing out the rear, hanging on to his TV. quite illegal i'm sure, but we made it!

Man, I've been there, and I should have taken a photo. I squeezed two huge sheets of plywood in once, with a bunch of other wood. Its not easy to keep the inside from getting chewed up!

But, the VX seems to always manage.

Not that weird, but kind of funny...

The missus and I finally decided on some dining room chairs that we found at Pier 1 last month (after 5 years...). They were leather chairs with wood legs, and they came in two colors: black, and this sort of reddish-brownish-orangish color, so we decided to jazz it up a bit and get four of each. (you may see where this is going, but we didn't realize it at this point!)

We took two of each color and loaded them into the back of the VX. It took a little doing to get them in there (thank God I had the good sense to get a small, movable subwoofer), but we wrestled them in for the first of two trips. Happy that we only had to come back to the store once more, we hopped in the front seats and immediately started laughing!! No wonder we liked the upholstery on those chairs - they were the exact same colors as the VX interior! :-)

It was pretty amusing to be hauling strange color-combo chairs home in a strange color-combo vehicle!
