The VX does have an issue with air bubbles getting trapped. Just to be safe, check for water bubbles in the oil. If there is, it’s most likely a head gasket. But air bubbles are a good possibility.

OK. I drove the VX until it was fully hot. Then I shut it down, thinking that it would build the most pressure right after it first stops. I took my high powered flashlight and dental-type inspection mirror and looked at everything I can think...

It was a nice day today. I would have rather been out driving the VX, but I decided to work on it instead. This time I was attempting to fix the passenger side window. It did have a bad motor so I changed that easily enough. However, I discovered I...

I've deleted all messages so I'm not sure why I'm still getting that. At this time I'm not parting out anything from the VX - I hope to sell it with everything on it.

Hi John- I saw your CL ad. I tried to msg you but CL email isn't always great for me. Anyway, I don't know if you would be willing but might you sell just the skid plates? PS I tried to PM you but it said you are out of space.

I found this thread really helpful. I'm currently have KYB Gas-A-Just on a VX I just bought. I'd like either some stock units or maybe Koni. Koni Heavy Track shocks, 30-1565 and 30-1566 have the following lengths according to a Koni rep: Front...

Also, that's not how mine works. There's no "passive arming". The door has to be shut and I have to press the lock/unlock button on my key fob to get the system to arm. If the door is open, a LONG LOUD continuous tone goes off that will annoy...

Wouldn't that disable the keyless too? In this post, I think you'll find the schematic for the box mentioned by Thelgord. If the alarm is indeed malfunctioning/bad, you might try disconnecting the alarm/horn wire...so you can retain keyless...

Thanks so much for the tip! That's a great idea. I'll try a piece of paper and tightening the clamps. I've been reading about your build. I wish I could be as good at mechanics as you are!

I am looking to buy a spare black hood insert that I can play around with making a super radical hood scoop onto. I have a 2001 Proton daily driver that I keep doing little upgrades to. Thanks Dave 763-645-3624

Drivers side. Under the dash. Far left side. There a box with a tiny green button inset and a large plug with lots of wires going into it. Unplug the wires.

Slide a piece of paper up behind the heater core under the dash. Go for a drive. Pull the paper out and check for wet spots. It is also possible you didn’t get the clamps between the firewall and engine completely tight. Recheck all of your hose...

Hi Guys. I got a ticket for an alarm that didn't turn off and unplugged the horn. I'd like to disable the alarm so it doesn't turn on automatically when you close the door. Thanks so much.

Short answer, buy the regulator. Long answer, time for arts and crafts. You can use a white HDPE cutting board (dollar store specials work well) and a jig saw to create your own with taller guides for longer life. I have seen pics of it done on...

http://superbumper.com/faqs/ It's what I have on mine. Kat & Jo convinced me that something on the back was a good idea. And frankly, if a VX gets rear ended, it's going to be totaled--that's a repair nobody wants to touch. So I have...
