Purchased new praise pads for the rear however I don't have a garage, just a car port. Storms are preventing further work on the VX today.

So I have been working on the VX trying to get it road worthy again. The breaks have felt soft since I got it, and just assumed they were old and will need to be replaced. No grinding or anything like that. However, I was just out looking over. The...

Option 1) Wrench it your self. If you do this you will need to drop the cross-member in order to remove the larger of the two pans. It isn't difficult but it is time consuming and messy. For the smaller sump pan you will need to fill about 2/3 full...

I have my son's Green VX. I got the gaskets for the tranny pan(s) and the tranny filter and tranny additive. I have taken the VX to two tranny shops and two general mechanics and asked for a fluid change. All four shops in Orange County refused...

From the shop manual: Normal Pressures for the AC lines are Low Side: 21.3-42.7 psi and High Side: 199.1 to 270.2 psi Your high side seems fine, so working from the manual on low side: Symptom: Suction (Low Abnormally High. Gauge)...

Hooked up gauges to my AC and then noticing that the low side is high actually pinned, and the hight side is about 250. What could cause this? AC works for about 15 minutes 20 minutes then blows not hot and not cold air if I shut it off for 3...

Finally got around to doing the transfer case fluid, yay! More progress! Like the transmission the fluid was a burnt brown color. New fluid should help it along. I also changed the transmission drain plug gasket back to a copper crush washer. I...

Thank you. Unlikely to be bad gas... was in the middle of the current tankfull. Dying in the middle of driving does sound like a fuel supply problem however and that's a good thought but wouldn't explain failure of OBDII and TOD check light.

Thanks. CKP was my first thought. That's where I'll head after checking the fuses you mention. Of course, it's a bear to get to... do I need to drop the starter to reach it? So weird that a) it happened while cruising along and b) it won't...

Bad dose of watery gas? Have you changed the fuel filter lately? Or you could just disconnect a ff line, drain the current ff out, then hook it up and try again.

Might be a stupid question, what tool do you use to remove the T-Case drain bolt? Looks like just the bare end of a 3/8 ratchet. Is it really that simple?

    1) CKP, Crank shaft poisition sensor. Use by the PCM to monitor engine speed. If faulty, the engine won't start, but should still throw a trouble code. 2) 15A Iginition Fuse and the 30A PCM fuse. If the PCM fuse is blown the PCM will not power...

I'm not sure what you're trying to ask. (I won't even get into my questions regarding putting rubber band-tire size 20" wheels on a VX). I don't have stats on the stock VX wheels off-hand; search for those on here. I want to say the stockers are...

More progress today. Got rid of all the engines codes except the P0405 (EGR Low) error. I pulled the EGR sensor, new gasket, cleaned it out really good. It seemed to move freely, but at over 170k miles it probably needs a new one. Before I did...

One thing at a time. I have a lot to do in order to get this VX right again. It is worse shape than I thought, but the price was right so I didn't expect perfection anyway. ;)

If you're talking about the ball joints on the control arms, what I usually do is jack up the frame so the wheel is off the ground, then try moving it. If it moves on yaw axis, you probably have a tie-rod issue. if it moves on the roll axis...

Cargo area only "looks" small. That's because the back seats are exceptionally roomy for a vehicle this size. Then you fold them flat to the front seats, and find you can fit 4 full-size tires in the back end. :)
